Miss República Dominicana 2012 was held in Teatro la Fiesta del Hotel Jaragua, Santo Domingo on 17 April 2012. 37 ladies representing different provinces, municipalities and communities were vying for the title.
Miss Distrito Nacional, Dulcita Lieggi Francisco, 22, 181cm, from Santo Domingo, is the new Dominican Queen. She was originally the first runner-up to Carola Durán, Lieggi was later given the title after the original winner was dethroned. Lieggi will represent the Dominican Republic in Miss Universe 2012.
The original winner of Miss República Dominicana 2012, Miss La Vega, Carola Durán, 25, 184cm, was dethroned only 5 days after being crowned, after admitting she had been married before.
I like watching beauty pageants since I was 4, love watching Miss Universe, Miss World, Reina Sudamericana and all national pagaents in Central and South America.
In May 2005, I travelled to Thailand to watch the Miss Universe pageant. It was so exciting to watch the live show. I was so happy to meet my favourite contestants from Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Dominican Rep and Puerto Rico.
